As a Senior Researcher, Maria Paula is responsible for managing projects from initiation to completion, as well as using innovative research tools and methods, to provide actionable insights to clients.
Maria Paula has a PhD in Museology from the University of Manchester – prior to joining MHM, she was a Lecturer with teaching experience in various institutions across the UK. Her research expertise is focused on the relationships between cultural institutions, branding and social media. She is particularly interested how these organisations make decisions and value social media platforms and audiences.
Similarly, Maria Paula is passionate about building a more equitable and ethical cultural sector, so in her spare time you can find her publishing and collaborating as an independent academic, or volunteering for organisations like Museum Detox. Otherwise, Maria Paula spends her time finding cosy restaurants around Manchester and enjoying natural and heritage sites around the world.
