Based in Melbourne, Damon joined MHM as a Research Analyst in 2024.
Damon’s experience in research began with an investigation into the horror genre, Peak TV and the post-network era at the University of Melbourne where he gained valuable insights into TV distribution during a period of rapid change. Following this, he worked in a broad range of roles across the arts sector, including in digital content, visitor experience, public programs, and education for organisations such as ACMI, Melbourne International Film Festival, and Arts House Melbourne.
Damon believes in the sense of wonder that art enables and works to support artists and organisers to achieve their creative vision. After being involved in theatre and music from a young age, Damon combines his love of performance with his critical thinking and evidence-based approach to strategy and research. He believes in challenging prevailing orthodoxy and considering new ideas and technologies to engage with audiences.
Ranging from zines to musical theatre to Czechoslovak New Wave cinema, Damon’s eclectic interests give him a unique understanding of the culture market that he is excited to share with clients.
