Economic Impact

Economic impact studies
We have undertaken economic impact assessments, using a range of models for a variety of cultural and sports sectors and events, including:

  • Industrial Powerhouse: a three-year, ongoing economic impact assessment to provide economic impact data for the client, regional and European development agencies; utilising a combination of Northwest Regional Development Agency’s (NWDA’s) Visitor Attractions Economic Impact modelling toolkit and the ECOTEC and Westminster University ‘Destination Marketing and Promotion Economic Impact Methodology’.
  • Manchester International Festival: using a bespoke Cambridge Econometrics Model.
  • Edinburgh International Film Festival: using the Scottish Tourism Multiplier Study.
  • Birmingham Arts Partnership (11 venues): using the Arts Council England / Shellard model.

We have also undertaken literature reviews in this field, including assessing the Economic Impact of the Cultural Sector in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin for Shropshire Council and of the Economic, Social, Cultural and Environmental Impact of Architecture and Design for The Scottish Executive.
